Your Kid Doesn't Need To Be Educated...He Needs To Be Indoctrinated!

There are many things one can expect from a Barack Hussein Obama diatribe. The first thing you'll notice is a whole lot of mumbling and stuttering, much like a poor soul suffering a mini-stroke. The second is the occasional phoney-baloney "Malcolm X voice" (H/T Ann Coulter) if he's PO'ed about something.  (You know, things like FOX News, no more chicken poodle soup, Benjamin Netanyahu, a lousy day at the links, that sort of thing.) The third thing you'll notice is his incessant cheerleading for federal interference in education, Constitution be damned.

This cheerleading happens in almost every one of his rants. It doesn't matter if the subject is visiting all 57 states, telling Catholic organizations to shut the hell up already and pay for the condoms, or that the so-called "Arab Spring" is spontaneous eruption of Jeffersonian Democracy, you can bet the farm that Chairman Obama is going to somehow going to manage to mention how We the People need to "invest" more in our inefficient, union-infested, government-run schools.

Now why is that ?

One is tempted to say that our Kenyan Dictator needs to keep the various teacher unions happy so they keep filling his campaign coffers full. That's true, but only to a certain point. Teacher unions have nothing to do with education, they're all about leftist commie politics and supporting commie leftist politicians. Albert Shanker, founder of the United Federation of Teachers and president of the "American" Federation of Teachers, once famously quipped, "When school children start paying union dues, that's when I'll start representing the interests of children."  In other words, the teacher unions will back any misfit or malcontent that runs for office with a -D after their name. It doesn't really matter if they're functionally illiterate like Joe Biteme, all that matters is that they're a member of the Democrat party in reasonably good standing. All that matters to teacher unions is keeping the gravy train of bloated benefits and pensions going. (A great example of this are the recent teacher strikes in Chairman Obama's own backyard. If you'll note, the teachers didn't give a crap that the Chicago school system struggles mightily to graduate 60% of its students. All they cared about about was making sure they got a bigger share of their neighbor's paycheck. When the strike ended, the teacher unions dutifully reattached to their collective lips to Rahm Emanuel's creepy ballerina ass.)

So then why does Barry keep up this charade, especially if it's something many teachers could care less about ?

It's all about indoctrination of the young, just like the Kosomol of the Soviet Union or the Hitler Jugend of Nazi Germany.

Let me repeat that so there's no misunderstanding whatsoever: It's all about indoctrination of the young. Our Dear Leader wants to indoctrinate your children. This is why he keeps insisting that the federal role in education keeps getting bigger and bigger, much like the deficit. Uncle Sam doesn't want you, he wants your children.

The Department of Education, under Obama sycophant Arne Duncan, is as political as it gets.

For example:

***

"June is LGBT Pride Month, and to kick off the month, and as part of ED’s Student Voices Sessions, the Secretary met with eight students from the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) and the Gay-Straight Alliance Network to hear directly from the students about their experiences and to discuss bullying and possible solutions."

***

No, I'm not for bullying in our schools, but I sure don't like idea of the Federal Leviathan telling my children that the perversion of homosexuality is OK in contradiction of what I teach them at home. I also think that the schools themselves are more than able to stop bullying on their own. No one needs Big Brother's guidance on handling such situations.

Ah, but there's more:

***

" 'You are all partners and allies in reforming public education,' Secretary Arne Duncan said last week at the National Action Network’s 14th Annual Convention in Washington. 'An excellent education for very child is a moral and civic imperative, as well as an economic one. This issue is even bigger than education—it is an issue of social justice and economic security,' [Education Secretary Arne] Duncan said.

One takeaway from the conference is that the civil rights community has a long and distinguished history of taking courageous action to drive social change, and it will take collective will to make a difference in boosting the nation’s graduation rates and turning around our low-performing schools. 'Without equality in education there will never be equality in society. We have to do what’s right for our children and make education a priority,' said Rev. Al Sharpton [noted anti-semite, anti-white racist, and current host on PMSNBC]  of the  founder of the National Action Network.

Secretary Duncan explained that 'we have to have a strategy to build an economy that will last—and education is the centerpiece of it.' Duncan praised groups like the National Action Network for their work with communities, and said that 'we need to keep fighting together for strong local, state and national investments.' "

Don't worry, greenies, you weren't left out. The Department of Education luvs you, too!

***

"Two weeks from today, Secretary Duncan will take the stage at the Green Schools National Conference in Denver, providing a high note at what is fast becoming the largest annual meeting of the green schools movement. The Secretary and other distinguished speakers, including Deputy Undersecretary for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Janey Thornton, mayors from several cities, and business leaders representing companies from Stonyfield Farm to Siemens, will address the green schools movement and how it can strengthen our economy, revitalize our schools and ensure access to green school benefits for all.

The Secretary’s appearance and the growing popularity of this conference signal a new milestone in green schools, coinciding with the inaugural year of U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools (ED-GRS) program. ED’s new Environmental Justice Strategy explains how ED-GRS is just one initiative supporting a goal at the very heart of ED’s mission: assuring equal educational opportunity for every student. ED-GRS, among other initiatives, helps suggest ways to address the adverse health and environmental conditions that disproportionately affect student achievement among minority and low-income populations."

Ladies and gentlemen, I can't begin to describe how dangerous this is. If one only takes one lesson from history, it should be the fact that national governments and children are a terrible mix. The Soviets turned children against their parents. The Nazis not only turned children against their parents, they turned them into cannon fodder at the end of World War II. Is that what you want for YOUR children ?

On that cheery note, I leave you with this equally cheery note from George Orwell's 1984:

***

"With those children, he thought, that wretched woman must lead a life of terror. Another year, two years, and they would be watching her night and day for symptoms of unorthodoxy. Nearly all children nowadays were horrible. What was worst of all was that by means of such organizations as the Spies they were systematically turned into ungovernable little savages, and yet this produced in them no tendency whatever to rebel against the discipline of the Party. On the contrary, they adored the Party and everything connected with it. The songs, the processions, the banners, the hiking, the drilling with dummy rifles, the yelling of slogans, the worship of Big Brother -- it was all a sort of glorious game to them. All their ferocity was turned outwards, against the enemies of the State, against foreigners, traitors, saboteurs, thought-criminals. It was almost normal for people over thirty to be frightened of their own children. And with good reason, for hardly a week passed in which The Times did not carry a paragraph describing how some eavesdropping little sneak -- 'child hero' was the phrase generally used -- had overheard some compromising remark and denounced its parents to the Thought Police."

Another Commie Skeleton Falls Out Of Obama's Closet

Recently, the Daily Caller released an unedited video of America's First Foreign Born President, Barack Hussein Obama, giving a speech (in what Ann Coulter accurately calls his "Malcolm X voice") at Hampton College in 2007.  In this video, the future Chairman Obama yapped about a lot of things, from accusing the US government of letting black folks suffer during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to how wonderful Jew hater Jeremiah Wright is. In short, it was a glimpse into the evil and hatred that makes up the former Barry Soetoro.

Now, for most Conservatives, much of what was revealed wasn't news. While most of us had never seen the video, we all knew that Obamugabe hated whites and had plenty of proof to back it up, ranging from Obama calling his own grandmother a "typical white person" to calling the Cambridge police stupid for locking up angry black radical Henry Louis Gates. We already knew that the Kenyan Usurper thinks America is "Amerikkka",  so for many of  us, it was somewhat validating, but still old hat.

However, one part of the speech really sticks out like a sore thumb:

***

“We need to give our young people some real choices out there so they move away from gangs and violence and connect them with growing job sectors. That is why I am also going to create a 5-E Youth Service Corps. The ‘E’s’ stand for energy efficiency, environmental education and employment. This program would directly engage disconnected and disadvantaged young people in energy efficiency and environmental service opportunities to strengthen their communities while also providing them with practical skills and experience in important and growing career field.”

On the surface, this looks like another government boondoggle at best or another worthless promise made by a pandering politician at worst. No biggie, right ?

Not quite, Dear Reader. What we have here is a call for Komsomol-like indoctrination (and ultimate corruption of) young people. As has been proven countless times, the so-called "green" movement has nothing to do with saving the environment, it has everything to do with the redistribution of wealth, just like everything else the Progressivik movement has inflicted or wants to inflict upon  on the American people. But that's not the scary part of all this. The scary part of all this is the fact that it's already happening, with no input or authorization from CONgress.

Whatchoo talkin' about, Willis ?

From the America-hating commies at the Environmental Protection Agency, as part of their "Environmental Justice" strategy (Emphasis added where appropriate) :

***

"EPA Region 1, together with state, county, city, non-profit, and community organizations, is working with several communities in Bridgeport [Connecticut] on a series of environmental justice issues affecting human health and the ambient environment. The Project was designed to expand collaboration among a range of diverse stakeholders in order to solve some substantial environmental issues. Region I has programs designed to improve indoor air quality, encourage green jobs in the community, increase recycling rates, and reduce asthma and toxic exposure in schools and homes. The region awarded $100,000 to support the programming. The Region awarded $25,000 to the Bridgeport Board of Education and the City of Bridgeport to pilot a paper recycling program at two local schools. The Connecticut Coalition for Environmental Justice , a community based organization, will coordinate a community fair focused on asthma, bringing together city organizations working on asthma and healthy homes to effectively share resources.

Green jobs and youth development have been critical program elements. To attract young people into water industry careers, EPA New England worked with the Connecticut Section of the American Water Works Association, the Water and People Program, and the public schools to establish a Water Boot Camp. These groups are leading the way in connecting with youth to teach them about water resources and prepare them for green jobs in water operations. Groundwork Bridgeport will train and develop 20 Bridgeport youth water resource protection advocates, mark 600 street drains indicating that they drain into Long Island Sound and must be kept clean, and organize four neighborhood meetings for residents and local businesses about how they can protect water resources.  The City’s Workplace, Inc. jobs training program is devising training for inner city youth to receive waste water and drinking water handler certifications. Beyond the water projects, the region facilitated Greenscaper Training at Bridgeport’s Beardsley Zoo. The training focused on vegetated rain gardens as a way to control stormwater runoff."

What in the hell is "Environmental Justice" ?

There are two possible answers to that question, Dear Reader. One is propaganda  from the Bloated Federal Leviathan and the other is the truth. Let's look at both:

First, the propaganda:

***

"Environmental Justice is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies. EPA has this goal for all communities and persons across this Nation. It will be achieved when everyone enjoys the same degree of protection from environmental and health hazards and equal access to the decision-making process to have a healthy environment in which to live, learn, and work."

 http://www.epa.gov/compliance/environmentaljustice/index.html

***

And now, the truth, from former UNELECTED "Green Jobs Czar" Van Jones, with emphasis added where appropriate:

***

"Mother Jones: Can you briefly explain what 'environmental justice' means to you?

Van Jones: Environmental justice is the movement to ensure that no community suffers disproportionate environmental burdens or goes without enjoying fair environmental benefits.

MJ: What's the relationship between environmental justice and sustainability?

VJ: Well, the only reason that we have the unsustainable accounting that we have right now is because incinerators, dumping grounds, and sacrifice zones were put where poor people live. It would never have been allowed if you had to put all the incinerators and nasty stuff in rich people's neighborhoods; we'd have had a sustainable economy a long time ago. We'd have had a clean and green economy a long time ago. It's the environmental racism that allowed the powerful people in society to turn a blind eye for decades to the downsides of the industrial system that got us to this point. So there's a direct relationship between environmental racism and the lack of sustainability of society as a whole. We were the canaries in the coal mines, crying for relief. Now finally the consequences are affecting everyone, with global warming and everything else. The other thing is that the environmental justice agenda is also changing. Before, it was much stronger on demanding equal protection from environmental bad. Now we are also demanding equal opportunity and equal access to environmental good. We don't want to be first and worst with all the toxins and all the negative effects of global warming, and then benefit last and least from all the breakthroughs in solar, wind energy, organic food, all the positives. We want an equal share, an equitable share, of the work wealth and the benefits of the transition to a green economy."
